Résumé: Prof. Hanan I. Malkawi had her bachelor degree in Biological Sciences at Yarmouk University-Jordan, then she was offered a scholarship from Yarmouk university to get her master degree in Bacteriology & Public Health at Washington State University-USA and then her doctorate degree in Microbiology & Molecular Biology at Washington State University-USA, after which she returned to Jordan where she had appointed as professor at yarmouk university.
She has been heavily involved in research lines in biotechnology and its applications in environment, health, agriculture, microbiology, food & cosmetic industry, and recently in nanotechnology & its applications in biological systems & environment, where she registered several patents. She has several funded grants from national & international agencies, and has good and practical experience with EU funded projects.
She has over 50 published papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and outstanding teaching activities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She supervised several graduate students. She participated and gave talks in several conferences and workshops world wide. She received several awards and fellowships and is active member in several national, regional and international academic & non-academic committees.
Prof. Malkawi has held several administrative positions: Assistant & Vice-Dean of Faculty of Sciences, Director of Foreign Projects Management Unit, Director of UNESCO Chair for Desert Studies, Dean of Scientific Research & Graduate Studies and currently, Chairman of the board of center of excellence of she is the Vice President for Scientific Research & International Relations at Yarmouk University.
